As regional finals for high school volleyball approach, Tallahassee will be represented by two schools, Chiles (5A class) and FSUHS (3A class). Both of these teams hope to earn a bid to the state semifinals with wins.
Chiles
Coming off a win against Ponte Vedra in the 5A FHSAA regional semifinals, the Timberwolves are set to play Beachside in the regional finals on 10/30. Chiles beat Ponte Vedra in straight sets with notable performances from Kate Stewart (Sr.,14 kills with 3 errors), Eva Goodson (Jr.,12 digs) and Aubrey Justin (Sr., two Aces on 11 service attempts with 0 errors). The set scores were 25-14, 25-22, 25-19.
The upcoming match will be the first meeting of the season between Chiles and Beachside and will be held in Tallahassee due to Chiles being seeded first in the Region. Beachside is seeded third.
FSUHS
Earlier this week, FSUHS beat Pensacola Catholic in a 4-set match in the 3A FHSAA regional semifinals with set scores of 21-25, 25-20, 25-18, 25-14. There were no available individual stats on Maxpreps to report from this game. The win advances the Seminoles to the regional finals where they will face top seeded North Bay Academy for the first time this season in an away game on 10/29.
