Leon County High School Basketball Scores for Week Ending Dec. 8

Boys

On Dec. 6, FSUHS (4-1) played an away game against The Rock National High School (9-1). FSUHS got handed their first loss of the season with Rock National winning 72-56. Although the Seminoles lost, Amare Robinson (Sr.) had a notable performance leading his team with 16 points.

On Dec. 6, Rickards faced off against Lincoln in an away game for the Raiders. The Trojans improved to 6-1 with help from senior guard Kingsley Mutanga. Mutanga posted a career high of 33 points and helped lead the Trojans to a 74-64 win over the Raiders.

On Dec. 6, Leon (5-3) hosted Chiles (3-2) looking for their 5th win. The Lions beat Chiles 63-55 with help from top scorers Aaron Pensel (Sr.) and Graham Roe (Sr.). Pensel lead the team with 19 points and Roe had 18 points, including three 3-pointers.

On Dec. 7, St. JPII (5-1) played in a tight game against Maclay (0-4). With help from leading scorer Mario Forbes (Sr.), JPII beat Maclay with a final score of 45-44. Forbes led his team with 22 points.

Girls

On Dec. 5, Leon (5-2) took on FAMU DRS (0-5) in a non-conference away game. Leon outscored FAMU 53-35 claiming their 5th win of the season.

On Dec. 5, Lincoln (2-1) hosted Chiles (2-3) in a home conference matchup. Lincoln had the upper hand beating Chiles 53-26.

On Dec. 6, Rickards (4-0) travelled to Godby (3-3) to play an away conference game against the Cougars. Rickards won with a score of 65-29 keeping their undefeated season alive. Two notable performances for the Raiders include Amirahs Hayes (Jr) with 16 points and Genesis Henry (Sr.) with 14 points.

On Dec. 7, FSUHS (5-3) took on Columbia (2-4) High School in search of their 5th win of the season. They ended up finding it, beating Columbia 53-37. FSUHS player Makiyah McHenry (Jr.) played a big role in leading her team to victory, posting a career high 21 points.
