  1. I watched a TPD officer pull someone over on Meridian where it approached Live Oak Plantation.

It has, literally, been years since I’ve witnessed an officer pull someone over. Putting the cops back out on the street will do a lot for the red-light-runners and other crazies on the road. Timing the traffic lights so that traffic flowed (particularly going out of town) instead of metering traffic would also ease driver frustrations.

  2. On Thursday, I participated in a tour of the Traffic Light division at the emergency center in Tom Brown Park. Pedestrian accidents were one of the main topics with a video showing a near-accident as an auto ran a redlight while a pedistrian was in the crosswalk. Killearney Way and Thomasville Rd was, also, noted as a redlight issue.

Bring back the redlight cameras and issue citations and collect penalties! Enough is enough.

  3. I realize that Tallahassee is not Los Angeles, but both are “blue cities” politically.
LA cut the fire department budget each year for the past 3 years.
They cut the fire department budget and the overtime budget by $18 million dollars last year.
Guess what? Most of those funds went to new DEI programs.
Tallahassee needs better fire protection and more firefighters rather than renaming streets to generate political goodwill.
    We need new City leadership.
