The Tallahassee Police Department (TPD) has arrested 25-year-old Deric Young following a death investigation that was later ruled a homicide involving a one-year-old child.

FLORIDA NEWS

Florida is attempting to settle a long-running legal battle with the federal government over immigration policies during the Biden administration, a court document filed Monday shows.

State employees will get a little extra time to enjoy the Independence Day weekend. Gov. Ron DeSantis on Monday announced that state offices will be closed July 3, in addition to the already-planned closure on July 4. 

NATIONAL NEWS

NATO leaders are expected to agree to ramp up defense spending when the two-day summit concludes today. Countries may commit to spending 5% of their gross domestic product on defense by 2035—up from the current 2% target, which 22 of the 32 member countries have met. 

A record-breaking heat wave is scorching much of the eastern US, with some cities seeing their hottest June temperatures in over a decade. Driven by a powerful heat dome, temperatures have soared 15 to 20 degrees above normal—New York City exceeded its 1888 record Tuesday of 96 degrees—and heat indexes have climbed over 100 degrees in several cities.

    Record-breaking heat wave is scorching much of the eastern US, with some cities seeing their hottest June temperatures in over a decade. As you stated, it has happened before so it's not really Record-breaking. It HAS happened BEFORE and it WILL happen again. It's called Climate CYCLES.

    Countries may commit to spending 5% of their gross domestic product on defense by 2035? They MAY commit? BY 2035? WTH? Every Country on that List should be spending the Same Percentage.
