Lafayette Oaks Homeowner Shoots Intruder

On Friday, February 6th, at approximately 9:40 p.m., Leon County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a report of shots fired in the 5400 block of Touraine Drive, where they discovered a male suffering from a gunshot wound. Touraine Drive is in the Lafayette Oaks neighborhood which is located off Mahan Drive about a mile west of the I-10 interchange.

Detectives determined the individual entered a home uninvited and refused to leave after multiple requests from the homeowner. The suspect then threatened the homeowner with a weapon while advancing toward him. The homeowner fired a single round from a semi-automatic handgun, striking the suspect.

Charges are pending in the investigation. No other individuals in the home were injured. The suspect was transported to a local hospital in critical condition. The investigation remains ongoing.

I used to live on Touraine Drive when I was in School. We were the Fourth Family to move in Lafayette Oaks. A few Days later a Fifth Family moved in and the Sixth House was half way built. Only 2 Roads were Paved for the first couple of Years. We found a LOT of Indian Artifacts there.
