The City of Tallahassee is planning wastewater system improvements along a portion of Centerville Road near Hickory Ridge Road. The work is necessary to replace a segment of aging pipe in the area and enhance service reliability.
Construction is slated to begin on June 17 and involves replacing roughly 1,500 feet of sewer pipe under Centerville Road, which will require open trenches and heavy equipment. The impacted roadway will be resurfaced upon completion of the work.
To create a safe work zone for the crew and motorists, there will be weekday lane closures on Centerville Road near Hickory Ridge Road from June 17-21. The remainder of construction will occur on weekends and will require a full road closure. The closures will be coordinated with emergency service providers, and flag personnel will assist traffic through the area. Local traffic will be maintained, with driveways and side streets accessible at all times. Motorists and cyclists are advised to use extreme caution and expect delays in the area during construction.
