Tallahassee Police arrested a man in connection to a stolen car from New Orleans. The officer conducted a traffic stop around 4:00 a.m. Tuesday and found the driver had an active warrant out of Seminole County. TPD also found fentanyl and marijuana. The driver was arrested for outstanding warrants, grand theft of a motor vehicle and possession of a controlled substance.

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis is directing $7 million toward rural infrastructure projects from the state’s Rural Infrastructure Fund overseen by the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity. Apalachicola and Gretna are some of the communities in the Big Bend area set to receive funding. Gretna will be getting $3,501,840, to extend water, sewer and roads for a new manufacturing business and Apalachicola will receive $300,000 for planning and design improvements for the city’s stormwater conveyance system.
Florida Congressman Byron Donalds has penned a letter urging Republican Senators to vote “no” on the 1.7 trillion omnibus bill. “At the very least, due respect for Americans who elected us would call for not passing a ‘lame duck’ spending bill just days before Members fly home for Christmas and two weeks before a new Republican majority is sworn in for the 118th Congress,” Donalds said, along with numerous other conservative members of the House GOP.
Florida State Sen. Joe Gruters and State Rep. Spencer Roach have filed joint legislation that will return local school board races to being partisan elections. “These elections are clearly partisan and the voters deserve a transparent process,” Gruters said.

Florida State women’s basketball defeated rival Miami Hurricanes 92-85 yesterday behind Makayla Timpson’s 19 points, five rebounds and four blocked shots in the game’s final 20 minutes. The Noles have one full week until their next game on the road against the North Carolina Tar Heels next Thursday night at 8:00 p.m.

Addenda — FSU’s men’s basketball team defeated Notre Dame’s Fighting Irish 73-72.
For FSU fans or basketball fans in general, it was a fun and entertaining game with both teams showing some impressive play.
