On Monday, Rudolph “Rudy” Ferguson Sr.announced his candidacy for Tallahassee City Commission Seat 1. Ferguson, a pastor and a former Leon County Commission candidate, announced his candidacy via a press release and in a post on Facebook with his wife, Katrina. Ferguson notes he and his wife have been married for 31 years, and they have four adult children. In the campaign press release, Ferguson addressed the three issues that were the focus of the 2022 city campaigns: economic growth, public safety, and city commission congeniality.

FLORIDA NEWS

With the end of the 2023 Florida legislative session, all eyes now turn to the presidential ambitions of Governor Ron DeSantis. The Wall Street Journal Editorial Board recently wrote that, “His pitch for 2024 is that he delivers results, without all the drama.” However, within the opinion piece, the Journal highlights a cautionary note related to his record on abortion and his very public fight with Disney.

The American Civil Liberties Union is suing the State of Florida over a recently signed law that stopped Chinese-related entities from buying land in the state. “We’re suing Florida over a discriminatory property law that blocks most immigrants from China, Cuba, Venezuela, Syria, Iran, Russia, and North Korea from buying homes in much of the state. The law singles out Chinese people for the harshest restrictions and penalties,” the ACLU tweeted.

Voter registration groups are encouraging Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis to veto legislation that will require voter-registration groups to provide receipts when they collect applications from people, shorten from 14 to 10 days the length of time groups have to turn applications in to elections supervisors, and impose a $50-per-day fine for each application that is turned in late.”

Gillam got his get out of jail free race card. Maddox got his released early "good behavior" card. All Tallahassee is returning to normal. The liberal Gillam worshippers will have him back in office for a "second chance for the poor abused black" and Tallahassee can now speed its descent into a Chicago warfare zone.

    Wrong!

Gillum and Maddox will never hold a public office again. I believe Maddox by law would not be able to and Gillum would be foolish to even attempt such a comeback. It's over.

ANYONE from China, Cuba, Venezuela, Syria, Iran, Russia, and North Korea should NOT be allowed to buy ANY type of Property in the US period.

Collecting voter-registration Applications from people and turning them in SHOULD be under strict supervision. Everything to protect our Votes should be done.

    Good morning Leon/Tallahassee
Welp Scott Mattox is out of prison and back in town under house arrest or some such restriction. Think how excited your voting neighbors are!!! They are just giddy at the thought of being able to elect both Mattox and Gillum to some local office of responsability as soon as possable. Meanwhile no word on Scotts girl Paige.
