Ben Crump has joined the legal team of a 69-year-old Tallahassee woman that was arrested at her home on voter fraud charges last month. The woman is accused of falsely claiming she was eligible to vote in Florida in 2020 and 2022 while being a convicted felon on probation, according to court records. She faces three third degree felony charges with one count of submission of false voter registration information and two counts of voting as an unqualified elector.
It’s that time of year when state government offices decide out how much money they’ll request from the Legislature. Leon County’s legislative delegation recently heard from Tallahassee Police Chief Lawrence Revell and Leon County Sheriff Walt McNeil about local crime-fighting needs.

The Tallahassee International Airport shows that August 2023 passenger traffic increased 7.3% when compared to traffic one year ago. Notably, the year-over-year change was most felt by Silver Airways who saw a 40 percent passenger increase.

Florida State Sen. Lori Berman filed legislation for the upcoming 2024 Legislative Session that would expand Florida’s antisemitism laws to apply to all of Florida public life. One of the “11 contemporary examples” provided in the existing legislation is “claims of Jews killing Jesus.” Violations of one of those contemporary examples would be characterized as a “hate crime.”
Ron DeSantis’ Super PAC is now without spokesman. Steve Cortes has announced he has left the DeSantis presidential PAC. Cortes said the campaign was “down double digits” with “work to do” and “wood to chop.”
Florida Republicans Congressman Carlos Gimenez said most Republicans in Congress want Kevin McCarthy back. “Many of our Members, myself included, want Speaker McCarthy to rightfully return as our Speaker,” Giménez posted on X. “We can quickly coalesce and focus on the work of the American people.”

Looks like Steve Cortes should NEVER have had that Job and NO ONE should even consider him again if he is that ready to “Cut Bait and RUN” when the times get tough. This is where you “Buckle Up and work HARDER”.
Where Law Enforcement needs help is in the D.A.’s Office and tougher Judges. For Example, I read this today: “In Connecticut, Suzanne Laprise was arrested and charged with attempted murder after she allegedly fired multiple shots into the bulletproof glass of a police department.” We NEED a DA that will do that here. If she was here in Tallahassee, she’d probably just be charged with Misuse of a Firearm while Trespassing. HERE, a Guy at a Party on Pensacola Street Parking Lot got into an argument, walked away to his Car, came back with a Gun, fired that Gun several times INTO A CROWD or People and was only charged with “Assault with a Deadly Weapon”. He should have been charged with several counts of “Attempted MURDER”.
