The enthusiasm that accompanied the move of the homeless shelter in 2015 has given way to the reality that the shelter is now not meeting the needs of the homeless and is also hurting local businesses in the immediate area and having financial impacts that reach beyond western Leon County.

TALLAHASSEE WEATHER
Prior to the last vote for city commissioners, we had Dailey, Richardson, Cox, Matlow and Porter. After the last election for some commissioners we still had Dailey, Richardson, Cox , Matlow and Porter. It appears that most of Tallahassee is very pleased with the job the City commission is doing if they voted the same people back into office for another term.
Chances are very good that come the next election we’ll see the same incompetent, devious, corrupt individuals voted back into office for even another term. Vote very carefully Tallahassee if you expect to see anything to change for the better.
This is what happens when you vote for a bunch of self-serving illiberals who are backed by the remnants of the local rag.
Congrats voters – you got what you deserve.
Happy to hear the two missing Leon County children were found in Escambia County. It’s not a big deal but curious why Osceola County deputies were helping with the search around US 90.
Hoping Gadsden County deputies were also assisting in the search. I suppose there must be some family connection with Osceola County.
Stanley Sims: So the City commission got caught showing their true colors. Damn that public. Locals know Mr. Sims. If you’ve ever met him….you haven’t forgotten. Speaking truth to power –Sims has confronted more than one City commissioner/mayor, to reveal the City’s underbelly.
Agree with him or not, veracity isn’t in question . Commissioners beware of Mr. Sims, he might walk like a slinky (no humor intended) just remember — his body is just a vessel for an agile mind
Schools in Garden City, Kansas , are on lockdown while police respond to an active incident at the local community college ‘We will provide updates when available,’ the police department said in a tweet on Wednesday morning.
We are the land of the free, not the land of terrorists and their supporters. Deport every foreign national demonstrating in support of Hamas.
The Palestinian chant “From the River to the Sea” refers to eradicating Israel and its people and establishing a State of Palestine from the Jordan River to the Mediterranean Sea. This sounds an awful lot like the Nazi’s evil call to eradicate Jews from Europe.
Just as the Israeli government is defending their citizens, our government has a duty to protect U.S. citizens from this insanity and mayhem. No Palestinian refugees should be entering our country; there is plenty of room for them somewhere else in the Middle East.
@ jack quillman = Correct, Mr. Sims has taken over for Mr. Erwin Jackson. I’m waiting to see when the Commissioners will have Mr. Sims Followed and Spied On and start cutting his Mic Off just like they did with Mr. Jackson.

Sewage spills, homeless shelter problems, mocking citizens at public meetings, facilitating kickbacks through the CSC, etc. It’s up to the voters to vote out Curtis and put in an honest, competent replacement who will move forward in support of doing a nationwide search for a city manager. Until then, consider Tallahassee a corrupt enterprise and move to officially change the name from Tallahassee to Kickback Enterprise.
Isn’t the Homeless Shelter on Pensacola Street actually the Kearney Center? Aren’t we paying them close to or just over a $Million to take care of the Homeless? If true, maybe we need to cut back on the funding since they are not working out.
The Lake Bradford Apartments Affordable Housing Project on Kissimmee Street will be for LOW Income People, what will the Rent be and will any of it be subsidized by the Tax Payers?
Foreign college and university students who are glorifying Hamas do not have a right to be “in the U.S. on a student VISA.”………………… They shouldn’t have the right to be in the US PERIOD.
