Donna Adelson has hired a new defense team to represent her as she faces charges of murder, conspiracy and solicitation in the 2014 murder of her former son-in-law, FSU law professor Dan Markel. Documents posted by the Leon County Clerk Tuesday show Adelson will now be represented by Daniel Rashbaum, the same attorney who represented her son Charlie Adelson at trial, as well as Tallahassee-based attorney Alex Morris.
TPD arrested a 17-year-old after a manhunt. TPD arrested him for being suspected for firing at a TPD officer around 12:30 pm Tuesday The Greens at Old St. Augustine Apartments in Southeast Tallahassee near Hilaman Golf Course. Police have not released any charges in connection to the incident.

West Virginia defensive end transfer Tomiwa Durojaiye announced that he was continuing his college career in Tallahassee. He’s coming off a campaign where he began to display his vast potential, recording 23 tackles, six tackles for loss, and 3.5 sacks while appearing in all 13 of the Mountaineers’ games. Durojaiye will have three seasons of eligibility remaining.

Florida House Speaker Paul Renner is not supportive of the Florida Legislature abolishing mail-in voting and further restricting abortion. While suggesting he personally might support further efforts to limit abortion, he considers the heartbeat bill signed into law last year to be a major win.
A proposed memorial that urges the U.S. Federal Government to secure the southern border and fix the immigration system passed a Senate Judiciary Committee Tuesday. Sen. Blaise Ingoglia, R-Spring Hill, proposed the memorial, SM 598, which passed favorably through a Senate Judiciary Committee Tuesday with a 9-1 vote.
Florida Democrats blasted Gov. Ron DeSantis’ State of the State address, arguing it avoided important issues that may be inconvenient for his 2024 Presidential run. House Minority Leader Fentrice Driskell said DeSantis appeared to be more focused on the campaign trail than the issues impacting Floridians.

French President Emmanuel Macron appointed 34-year-old Gabriel Attal prime minister yesterday, making Attal both the youngest and first openly gay head of France’s government since the current constitution’s establishment in 1958. The appointment follows the Monday resignation of Élisabeth Borne, who served for the first 18 months of Macron’s second term and was the second woman in the role.
