The latest information from the Tallahassee International Airport shows that February 2024 passenger traffic increased 22.6% when compared to traffic one year ago. The number of passengers was up 13,178 from the 58,323 reported during February 2023 to 71,501 in February 2024.

A man is behind bars after his wife was found dead at their northwest Tallahassee home Monday. James Key, 61, faces a first-degree murder charge in connection to the incident that unfolded just before 3 p.m. on Rivers Bank Way. Court documents revealed Key’s wife was shot three times. She was reportedly experiencing health issues, and Key told investigators he took her life to “end her pain,” according to court records.

No. 13 Florida State baseball (23-4) clinched the season series against Jacksonville (13-15) with a 5-3 win Tuesday evening in Dick Howser Stadium. James Tibbs led the Noles offensively with three hits and three RBI, while six FSU pitchers combined on a three-hitter.

Gov. Ron DeSantis celebrated more than 200 Americans successfully being rescued from Haiti thanks to the state’s efforts to help U.S. citizens in the war torn country. Florida Division of Emergency Management Executive Director Kevin Guthrie echoed DeSantis’ support for the operation.

President Biden’s campaign declared Florida “winnable” in the 2024 elections after the Republican-led state’s Supreme Court made two key rulings on Monday. The court put a referendum on abortion on the ballot for November in the state, where former President Trump won 51% of votes to Biden’s 48% in 2020. Trump also won Florida by a slim margin in 2016.

Lawyers representing migrants flown to Martha’s Vineyard nearly two years ago by Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis can suethe charter flight company that transported them to the island off the Massachusetts coast, according to a ruling Monday by a federal judge in Boston. The Walt Disney Co.’s monthslong battle with billionaire investor Nelson Peltz and his firm, Trian Fund Management, will come to a close today, as shareholders vote to determine the company’s future board. Shareholders will decide between Disney’s incumbent slate of 12 members and Trian’s two candidates, Peltz and former Disney CFO Jay Rasulo, who aim to replace two current members. Investor Blackwells Capital has also nominated three candidates. The board sets the strategy and oversees the management of the entertainment giant.
