Ron DeSantis approved a measure to restrict property ownership by people from China and six other countries, housing and real-estate groups Monday filed a federal lawsuit alleging it is discriminatory. The lawsuit, filed in Miami, contends that the law violates the federal Fair Housing Act and part of the Florida Constitution. The case filed Monday is broader, as it also applies to restrictions placed on people from Russia, Iran, North Korea, Cuba, Venezuela and Syria — each of which Florida calls a “foreign country of concern.”

ATTENTION LEON COUNTY TAXPAYERS:
Keep in mind that even though the CSC millage rate remains constant, if your house taxable value increases, which it usually does each year, your “contribution” to the CSC also goes up. It appears the CSC puts a very high priority on ensuring that the budget for salaries and other administrative costs constantly increases.
What is it going to take to put the continuation of the CSC to a referendum? As others has said, the CSC needs to be shut down.
“Restrict property ownership by people from China and six other countries, how does that violates the federal Fair Housing Act when they can still Rent or Lease. You know that old saying, “It only takes ONE”……… well, China is that ONE, when they started buying up 1000’s of Acres of Land around Military Bases so they can Spy on them (they admitted to it). I think Governor DeSantis did the right thing. It is no different than people not wanting to allow a Murderer or a known Pedophile to buy a Home in their Neighborhood. Would you like if someone buys a House next to you and they Spy on everything you do and say by hacking into all your Electronics, setting up Cameras pointing at your Property and in your Windows watching your every move keeping track of when you’re coming and going? Think about it.
