LOCAL NEWS

After an October 30, 2024, hearing before Circuit Judge Stephen Everett, the Court issued a written order dismissing murder charges related to a 2022 incident. The decision to dismiss the charges was based on a stand your ground defense.

At the November 19th Leon County School Board meeting, the Board approved sending several members of the school board to a Florida School Boards Association (FSBA) conference in Tampa, Florida. This comes at the recommendation of Superintendent Rocky Hanna.

A house fire turned deadly in Tallahassee Sunday morning, less than half an hour after crews had extinguished a second fire.

LOCAL SPORTS NEWS

Florida A&M volleyball beat Jackson State 3-1 in the SWAC championship to win their third conference title in four seasons.

The Florida State soccer team (15-2-4) concluded its season on Friday in the second round of the NCAA Women’s Soccer Championship. No. 8 Vanderbilt (10-3-7) defeated the Noles after a penalty shootout after the game ended in regulation, 3-3.

Former U.S. Rep. Matt Gaetz ended speculation Friday about whether he would return to his Northwest Florida seat when the new Congress takes office in January. “I do not intend to join the 119th Congress,” Gaetz said in a podcast interview with Turning Point USA founder and President Charlie Kirk.

The American Dental Association is denouncing Dr. Joseph Ladapo’s recent advisory against fluoride in municipal water systems, noting that 65 out of 67 counties have a shortage of dentists and contending fluoridation has preventive benefits.

    My body. My choice. I have it in my toothpaste by choice. I don’t need it in my drinking water.
