After a close win over Mainland High School, the Lincoln Trojan football team faced off against top seeded Niceville in the FHSAA 5A Region 1 final on Nov. 29.
In their first matchup, earlier in the regular season, Lincoln ended up scoring 35 points but could not stop Niceville’s offense in the second half resulting in a 38-35 win for the Eagles.
This time around, Niceville did a better job containing Lincoln’s explosive offense only allowing 10 points. The Eagles offense started off hot outscoring Lincoln 14-3 in the first quarter. The Trojans scored their first touchdown in the 3rd quarter, but it was too little too late as Niceville went on to win the game 31-10 advancing to state semifinals.
Lincoln finished their 2024-2025 season ranked 32nd in the state and 6th in the 5A class. Helping lead Lincolns powerful offense was quarterback Christian Sims jr. (Sr.). He ended the season with 27 total touchdowns, 1639 passing yards, 617 rushing yards and a average QB rating of 95.3.
