Gov. Ron DeSantis on Monday announced the state has awarded an additional $3.5 million to help Point Blank Enterprises expand in Wakulla County. The Pompano Beach-based manufacturer of law-enforcement and military body armor plans to build a 118,000-square-foot manufacturing facility that will employ about 300 people in Crawfordville.
The $3 million is from the state’s Job Growth Grant Fund program, which the governor can use at his discretion for regional infrastructure or workforce training. The state in December awarded a $4.5 million Rural Infrastructure Fund grant to the Point Blank Enterprises project. The project also has received $13.5 million from Triumph Gulf Coast, which decides how to spend settlement money from the 2010 Deepwater Horizon disaster, and $500,000 for economic-research and workforce planning from the University of West Florida’s Haas Center.
