LOCAL NEWS

A review of tax documents has discovered that Tallahassee Memorial Healthcare CEO Mark O’Bryant received $3.7 million in compensation in 2021. This finding follows a TR report revealing $3.1 million in compensation for O’Bryant in 2024.

LOCAL SPORTS

On Nov. 8th, the Chiles volleyball team completed their post season run winning the FHSAA 5A state tournament for the second year in a row. 

On November 7, the Lincoln Trojans soccer team (2–0) defeated the Florida High Seminoles (0–3) in an electric non-district matchup, 3-1.

FLORIDA NEWS

Amid a flurry of moves that has seen several Florida university presidents get replaced in the past year one leader is staying in place. The chair of the Florida State University’s Board of Trustees says he’s looking forward to extending President Richard McCullough’s contract.

NATIONAL NEWS

Senators reportedly reached an agreement yesterday to reopen the government. The deal involved at least eight Democrats and is projected to take days to move through the House. It would require funding much of the government through January and some departments—including the Department of Agriculture—for a full year. See live updates here.
