The Tallahassee Quarterback Club has announced their Players of the Week for the week of October 4th. The club chose Co-Defensive Players of the Week this week and therefore there is not a Special Teams Player of the Week.
Players will receive their awards this Thursday at their respective high schools.
Offensive Player of the Week:
Landon Simpkins, Chiles High School
8 of 16 for 125 yards and 1 touchdown
Defensive Player of the Week:
JD Gladden, Maclay School
18 total tackles, 7 solo, 2 fumble recoveries, 1 tackle for loss
Offensive Lineman of the Week:
Donovan Kelley, JPII High School
Graded out at 98%
Special Teams Player of the Week:
Jacob Sniffen, Maclay School
Blocked a punt which led to the winning touchdown (which he caught on the very next play)
The Tallahassee Quarterback Club’s next meeting is October 13, 2015 at the University Center Club at FSU. The speaker will be Jackie Sherrill, former player at Alabama for Bear Bryant and former coach at Pittsburg and Texas A&M.
The Tallahassee Quarterback Club was formed in 1949 to support local high school and college football. The club and its members show their passion for the game of football while recognizing and supporting good sportsmanship. The club’s official meetings are during the football season; however several social and networking opportunities are planned throughout the year.
