Former motocross racer and Tallahassee resident Ricky Carmichael posted a special request to all kids returning to school tomorrow.
On his Instagram account Carmichael wrote:
I’ve been posting this for a few years now and I hope it’s helping make a difference. School starts here in Tallahassee tomorrow so I wanted to send this reminder to all the kids and parents who are or will be starting school. This also goes for all you #keyboardwarriors out there. Let’s all try to be a little nicer to each other. Please take a moment to talk to your kids about this and share if you agree.

In the 5th grade I was bullied by this obnoxious kid (1940”s), my cap in the trees, my lunch sack on the school roof (he was a head taller than me). One recess , playing scratch baseball (you caught a fly, you went directly to bat), I caught the fly,went to bat and there stood this kid waiting for a pitch. Went over to the old oak tree where the bats were leaning, picked up a fat Louiville Slugger, walked over to said kid and put one across his shoulders that put him on the ground with the breath knocked out of him. Every one there thought I had killed him. He survived, but never again was there a problem with this bully after that—- Threats yes, but no contact what so ever because next time , he reasoned he might not be so lucky! Sometimes you have to “stand your ground”, not depend upon others to fight your battles for you—–guess they do not teach that anymore in school (or at home), just smile, turn the other cheek and run tell momie, daddy or the teacher. Lord help this country, if we have another all out shoot”n war !
Maybe he can make one for ur favorite President….STUMP…..
