At today’s Blueprint Intergovernmental Agency meeting, the board elected a new Vice Chair and appointed a new member to the Office of Economic Vitality Leadership Council (EVLC).
The board voted to elect County Commissioner Jimbo Jackson as Vice Chair of the Blueprint Intergovernmental Agency. City Commissioner Elaine Bryant is the current Vice Chair and incoming Chair.
The Vice Chair is elected to a two-year term beginning June 1. The first year is served as Vice Chair and the second year as Chair. The Chair position annually rotates between City and County Commissioners.
Jackson was elected to the District 2 seat of the County Commission in 2016, and he is running for reelection this year. He has worked at Fort Braden School since 1992 and has been principle since 2008.
At the meeting, the board also appointed Cissy Proctor to a two-year term on the EVLC. Proctor will represent the Economic Development sector. The seat has been vacated since late December, and it was previously held by Lila Jaber.
Proctor currently works for LSN Partners, a consulting firm, as Managing Partner of the Tallahassee Office. She previously worked for the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity as Executive Director and Bryant Miller Olive as an attorney. Proctor received her bachelor’s degree in International Affairs from Florida State University and graduated from the Florida State University College of Law.
At the upcoming board meeting on July 9, the board will review recommendations for appointments for new EVLC seats, including Healthcare, Applied Science, and Advanced Manufacturing.
