The latest employment information shows that Leon County added 3,489 jobs in June. One year ago Leon County lost 961 jobs. The unemployment rate decreased to 7.2% in June from 8.2% in May.
One year ago the unemployment rate was 3.5%.
The number of people working in June, 2020 decreased when compared to last year. The Leon County Jobs Report, listed above, indicates that 131,759 people were working in June 2020. This is 18,360 less than the 150,119 reported working in June of last year.
Also, the labor force decreased when compared to one year ago. The June, 2020 workforce was 141,950 compared to 155,496 last year.
At the state-level, 396,000 jobs were added in June after adding 180,000 jobs in May, 2020. The June unemployment rate decreased from 13.5% in May to 10.7%.
