Camp Challenger: Asteroid Academy

What you’ll get: It’s a day dedicated to the exploration of our moon and the several asteroids throughout our solar system. K-5th grade appropriate activities may include flying a simulated space mission, building an edible asteroid, coding and building rovers for the moon and asteroids, and learning about NASA’s latest information being collected on Asteroid Bennu.

Parks and Recreation Trivia – Brass Tap

New Beginnings by Tallahassee Symphony Orchestra

What you’ll get: Tallahassee Symphony Orchestra Concert featuring Jamal Aliyev on Cello. The works on this concert represent tradition, revival, and rebirth. Laying the foundation is Haydn’s Cello Concerto (1765), regarded as one of the greatest works for cello of the Classical Era. Building on this are Tchaikovsky’s beloved Rococo Variations (1877), inspired by the composer’s admiration for the great Classicist Mozart, and Prokofiev’s reinvention of the Classical style in his famous First Symphony (1917). Rounding out the evening is music by Prokofiev’s contemporary Stravinsky, whose Firebird (1910) symbolizes beauty, magic, and rebirth.

The Bardlings Spring Auditions

Live performance of: Lady Day at Emerson’s Bar & Grill

What you’ll get: The time is 1959. The place is a seedy bar in Philadelphia. The audience is about to witness one of Billie Holiday’s last performances, given four months before her death. More than a dozen musical numbers are interlaced with salty, often humorous, reminiscences to project a riveting portrait of the lady and her music.
