The latest information from the Tallahassee International Airport shows that May 2022 passenger traffic was 72,791. This is 5.1% or 3,903 passengers below the pre-COVID passenger traffic (76,694) reported in May 2019.
May traffic increased 39.3% when compared to traffic one year ago. The number of passengers was up 20,519 from the 52,272 reported during May 2021.
Comparing current passenger traffic numbers to May 2019 traffic gives a more realistic view of traffic growth given the impact of the COVID pandemic. For this reason, we have included traffic from 2019 in the Passenger Traffic Report below.
Relative to 2019, the Passenger Traffic Report shows passenger counts were down 0.8% for American Airlines, the Delta Group was down 6.2% and Silver Airways was down 37.2%.
The graph below shows the annualized number of passengers for the last 37-months. The highlighted numbers on the graph indicate the annual traffic during the month of March over the last four years.
The annual rate of passengers at TIA in May 2022 was 795,482 up 2.7% when compared to the annual rate reported last month. The annualized number of passengers is calculated by summing the previous 12 months of traffic.
The Biden Administration’s Green New Deal agenda has made everything more expensive. If you think filling your car with fuel is expensive, you will be amazed how much fuel cost an airline. IMO, commercial travel is tiring, expensive, uncomfortable and unreliable. I avoid air travel at all cost.
