TOC Welcomes Adam Almaguer, MD, Total Joint Surgeon, to Practice

Tallahassee Orthopedic Clinic (TOC) recently announced that Adam Almaguer, MD, has joined its team of providers. Dr. Almaguer is an orthopedic surgeon specializing in knee, hip, and joint replacement. He will be serving patients in TOC’s Capital Medical Clinic. Dr. Almaguer will treat patients with ailments affecting muscles, bones, and joints, focusing on hip preservation and replacement.

Dr. Almaguer is a native of Florida, growing up in Miami and Tallahassee. He graduated with honors from Florida State University with a BS in Biology. After earning his medical degree at the University of Central Florida College of Medicine, he completed his residency in orthopedic surgery at the University of Alabama Hospital in Birmingham. Dr. Almaguer received his Fellowship training at the Orthopedic Centers of Colorado, focusing on adult reconstruction and hip preservation.

He specializes in preserving, investigating, and restoring function for hips and musculoskeletal problems. He performs hip replacements through various approaches tailored to each patient’s needs. This includes the minimally invasive, muscle-sparing direct anterior approach and bikini incision. He performs total and partial knee replacements using kinematic alignment. This advanced technique involves using robotics, or patient-specific 3-D printed models and guides, allowing for a customized joint replacement specific to each patient’s unique anatomy.
