The latest reports show that Leon County gained 582 jobs in June. There were 158,577 people working in Leon County in June compared to last month’s revised employment number of 157,995.
The unemployment rate came in at 3.3%, up from the 2.9% reported in May. The unemployment rate was up due to a surge in people looking for work. Approximately 1,200 people joined the workforce in June.
One year ago, the June 2022 unemployment rate was 3.3%.
The Leon County Jobs Report, provided below, shows the number of people working in June 2023 was 3,872 more than in June 2022. The June 2023 labor force – those looking for jobs – came in at 163,936, which was 4,236 more than the number reported in June 2022.
