The latest reports show that Leon County gained 3,662 jobs in September. There were 164,647 people working in Leon County in September compared to last month’s revised employment number of 160,985.
The unemployment rate came in at 3.0%, down from the 3.2% reported in August. The unemployment rate was down with approximately 3,400 people joining the workforce in September.
One year ago, the September 2022 unemployment rate was 2.7%.
The Leon County Jobs Report, provided below, shows the number of people working in September 2023 was 5,785 more than in September 2022. The September 2023 labor force – those looking for jobs – came in at 169,805, which was 6,554 more than the number reported in September 2022.
The chart below shows the monthly level of jobs in Leon County over the last 37 months with a 12-month average trend line. The highlighted numbers relate to employment levels for the month of August back to 2020.
So if I interpret these statistics correctly, if we continue to NOT add jobs, then our employment rate goes UP?
So if we want to show high employment, then we must continue to cut/eliminate jobs, right?
Is this what Dems call Bidonomics?
