On Monday Jan. 15, the Chiles Timberwolves boys soccer team hosted the Gulf Breeze Dolphins and won 2-0. Spencer Wolfe (Jr.) and Caleb Gaines (Sr.) scored goals for the Timberwolves.
Going into the game, Chiles had a record of 9-3-1 and were ranked 8th in class 6A division. Gulf Breeze was 12-2-1, ranked 1st in class 6A division.
This was an important win for the Timberwolves as they finish up regular season games this week and get ready for playoffs.
Chiles defender Ryan Poage told TR, “Our team has consistently shown efforts to improve and develop throughout the season. Our chemistry is strong and keeps us motivated while we play. This group of boys is determined to do great things.”
Lincoln Girls Soccer Edges Chiles 3-2
On Monday Jan. 15, the Chiles Timberwolves girls’ soccer team traveled across town to face the Lincoln Trojans. The Trojans won a close match 3-2.
The Trojans took an early lead 2-1 at half, but the Timberwolves fought back, tying up the game. The Trojans scored the winning goal at the end of the game. Chiles goals were scored by Kyra Swart and Cameron Luther.
Going into this game the Timberwolves were ranked 5th in class 6A division with a record of 9-2-1. The Trojans were ranked 8th in class 5A division with a record of 8-4-1.
Chiles player Kendal Anderson told TR, ” I feel like we had a full team performance, we were competing well and adjusting in-game. Our communication on the field was good, it just came down to closing out the game and finishing our goal scoring opportunities.”
