The latest information from the Tallahassee International Airport shows that January 2024 passenger traffic increased 12.5% when compared to traffic one year ago. The number of passengers was up 7,680 from the 61,389 reported during January 2023 to 69,069 in January 2024.
Relative to 2023, the Passenger Traffic Report shows passenger counts were up 12.6% for American Airlines, down 6.3% for the Delta Group and down 7.7% for Silver Airways. New service provider Jet Blue added 5,537 passengers in January 2024.
The graph below shows the annualized number of passengers for the last 37-months. The highlighted numbers on the graph indicate the annual traffic during the month of January over the last four years.
The annual rate of passengers at TIA in January 2024 – 862,701 – was up 4.3% when compared to one year ago. The annualized number of passengers is calculated by summing the previous 12 months of traffic.
This is awesome news. Increased passenger traffic, FTZ designation, and increase cargo traffic should provide more revenue to TIA and help bring down ticket prices to attract more even more passenger traffic and businesses to Tallahassee. If FSU get into the Big Ten conference, passenger traffic should balloon even more. Of course, FSU Health and other innovative proposals in place at FSU will help to move Tallahassee forward in attracting private sector jobs. HUGE!!!!
