Gov. Ron DeSantis — who’s come out swinging against a proposed constitutional amendment that would allow recreational marijuana — on Friday delivered a victory to potential pot competitors by vetoing a measure that would have severely restricted the sales and production of euphoria-inducing hemp-based products.

The poll indicates 66 percent of voters support Amendment 3, which would legalize marijuana for adults aged 21 and older, while 32 percent oppose it. Support spans across political affiliations, with 76 percent of Democrats, 71 percent of independents, and 57 percent of Republicans in favor.

  1. Top Resident 1990:
You got it ! Bread and circuses and keep the power players fat. Deeper the blue tall’y gets, better St. Marys, GA. looks. Resident sense 67. Fell in love with this small burg—- but the Southern charm is waning.

  2. Please for the love of GOD.. I hope they legalize marijuana for personal recreational use. I use medicinal legally.. but ts really a HUGE scam.

Give me seeds and let me grow it my own self. I am 63. Will it ever be legal before I die.. like it once was back in the 19th century?

  3. I realize it is late in the day…but my thoughts:

Listen to what candidates say about issues that matter to us in our daily lives, taxes, inflation, police and firefighter protection.

Ignore the issues that are meant to divide us: social issues involving race, gender, climate etc.

The City is “Deep Blue” because of urban flight to NE Leon and Wakulla which are now deep red. Spend your disposable income in those locations.

How much longer are City residents going to continue to vote Democratic…and suffer the consequences?

  4. Ish. The other California Candidate David Wamsley was establishment linked. If you look at Donna, it’s clearly an establishment “play” as they call their maneuverings. Benefits Curtis to have another woman name on the ballot, Dot would not want that and the entire operation suggests much more of a Maddox deep state pro-Reese angle.

  5. People … The “California Candidate” is there to HURT Richardson, not help. Goodness, those who oppose growing the Matlow/Porter block with Dot Inman-Johnson have to retain Richardson and, hopefully, see Porter defeated. This is an obvious effort at siphoning off any Republican votes from Richardson and moving them to the “California Candidate.” In no way, shape, or form does this candidate help Curtis Richardson. How does an alleged GOP candidate (in an alleged nonpartisan race) help Richardson? Inman-Johnson has already stated she is the 3rd progressive vote. Keep your eye on the ball.

  6. wrong Ed, Donna Nyack is to help Curtis. similar name as his opponent that’s a pretty obvious move. Insiders feeling pressure from his votes for Doak and raising taxes so had to play games.

Brian Welch also chairs a political committee called Forward Together Leon, shared with Democrat operative Mark Herron who is the registered agent. It has raised money from Sean Pittman and Ghazvinis. Caban and sheriff Walt McNeil also have committees

  7. Nick Maddox is the chair of a PAC, so is Walt McNeil, Brian Welch, and Chris Caban.

What’s most important is who is running them – Mark Herron, Sean Pittman, etc.

  8. I am losing count, is this the Third or Forth Major Sewage spill in the last 10 Months? May I suggest you stop placing them under the Roads and instead place them under the Sidewalks. I believe that all the Vibrations over time from ALL the Vehicles on the Road is what is damaging the Pipes.

  9. @ Newpersonology… You have that backwards. The Pro-Hamas Progressives (Jacquelin and Dot) will lose, and the reasonable leaders will remain.

@ Terrell… 100% agree. Dot has already publicly announced that she will be the third vote in favor of the Pro-Hamas Destructive Progressive Agenda.

@ Make it… the so-called “ghost candidate” is a plant to help Pro-Hamas Dot, not Commissioner Richardson.

@ Proud… 100% correct on your first post. And the difference between golf and politics is that in golf, you can’t improve your lie. 🙂

@ David… Best of luck. You have my family’s votes.

  10. I am running for Leon County Commissioner and Today at NOON, I will be Qualified. As far as I know, of all the Candidates with Money in their Campaign Account, I am the only one that is 100% Self Funded. From the first Day I started running for Office in 2015, my slogan has always been: “I Don’t Want Your Money, I Want Your VOTE”.

  11. Progressive liberals are elected by growing the welfare state so large that finding work isn’t financially worth it. Never under-estimate the power of the stupid people when they band together and vote.

  12. Isn’t there a creepy California candidate in seat 2 race helping Curtis…. fishy! tired of my taxes going up to CA levels

  13. If Tallahassee doesn’t want to turn into Communist California, we have to vote Out Jack Porter, Matlow, and Dot Johnson ASAP!
