High School Spring Sports Round Up – Baseball

Another high school baseball season has come to an end with a number of local teams finishing successful seasons. 

Lincoln High School finished the season with an 18-12 record and with the MaxPreps highest final state ranking among Leon county teams coming in ranked 23rd statewide. Lincoln finished ranked 3rd in the 5A Class after losing to American Heritage in the State Semifinals.

Chase Fuller led Lincoln with a .348 batting average. Pitcher Nate Diez was credited with 8 wins while pitcher Garret Harper had 5 wins.

Chiles finished the season with 19-9 record, losing to Hagerty in the Regional Semifinals. Tyler Correa led Chiles with a .347 batting average. Pitchers Will McDonald and Andrew Colombo were each credited with 6 wins. The MaxPreps final rankings had Chiles at 24th statewide, and 3rd in the 6A Class.

North Florida Christian finished the season with 19-7-2 record, losing to St. John Country Day in the Regional Finals. Noah Miller led North Florida Christian with a .425 batting average. Garrett Workman was credited with 7 wins and Noah Miller with 5 wins as pitchers for the Eagles. The MaxPreps final rankings had North Florida Christian at 45th statewide, and 7th in the 2A Class.

Leon finished the season with 11-15 record, losing to Mosley in the District Semifinals. Phillip Garcia led Leon with a .439 batting average. Pitcher Ian Swanson was credited with 3 wins. The MaxPreps final rankings had Leon at 201st statewide, and 39th in the 6A Class.

Florida High finished the season with 7-16-2 record, losing to Maclay in the District Quarterfinals. Mark Metcalf led Florida High with a .433 batting average. The MaxPreps final rankings had Florida High at 359th statewide, and 57th in the 3A Class.

Maclay finished the season with 14-7-1 record, losing to Pensacola Catholic in the District Semifinals. Ben Wagnon led Maclay with a .463 batting average. The MaxPreps final rankings had Maclay at 299th statewide, and 46th in the 3A Class.

Rickards finished the season with 9-17 record, losing to Lincoln in the District Semifinals. Jayden Jones led Rickards with a .429 batting average. Pitcher Mishael Agbali was credited with 3 wins. The MaxPreps final rankings had Rickards at 466 statewide, and 66 in the 5A Class.

Godby finished the season with a 9-11 record, losing to Taylor County in the District Semifinals. Amari Jones led Godby with a .476 batting average. Pitcher Aidan Hodges was credited with 3 wins. The MaxPreps final rankings had Godby at 471st statewide, and 62nd in the 4A Class.

St. John Paul II finished the season with 12-11-1 record, losing to North Florida Christian in the Regional Semifinals. Jason Cantella led St. John Paul II with a .388 batting average and was the pitcher credited with 4 wins. The MaxPreps final rankings had Chiles at 417th statewide, and 46th in the 2A Class.
