Gov. Ron DeSantis on Monday received a final batch of 37 bills that passed during the 2024 legislative session.
The bills include measures about regulation of vacation rental properties (SB 280), prohibiting drivers from cruising in the left lanes of highways (HB 317) and controversial changes in ethics laws for public officials (SB 7014).
Also, the legislation includes a bill (HB 21) that would provide $20 million to compensate victims of abuse at the shuttered Arthur G. Dozier School for Boys in Marianna and another state reform school in Okeechobee County.
DeSantis has until July 2 to sign, veto or allow the bills to become law without his signature. He also has not acted on 11 bills that he received earlier. DeSantis has signed 262 bills from the 2024 session, including the state budget (HB 5001), and vetoed three bills.
