TALLAHASSEE WEATHER
Edward Lyle…so true. My family members text me when I’m upstairs in my house and they are downstairs in the same house!
@ David… The “bugs” and/or “glitches” are simply test runs. We have transitioned our society to near complete dependence on technology. From two-way and multi-route communications, to banking, to transportation, national security, GPS abilities, et al…
Now, imagine what would happen if someone – or some nation – with nefarious intent simply crashed it all. Absolute anarchy and chaos would ensue nationwide, leaving us vulnerable at every point. We have no less than two generations of tech-dependent people who couldn’t point north or even use a compass. Heck, they stand a couple of feet apart texting each other because they no longer know how to communicate… and many can’t find a Starbucks or Taco Bell without a GPS.
@ David No, not really. Hackers generally want to gain access to systems and exploit that access for gain. Even if the intent was disruption, grounding flights and causing what, in effect, was only mass inconvenience is nowhere near a destructive intent such as disabling a power grid or offlining nuclear power plant controls. Never ascribe to maliciousness what can be explained by incompetence.
Friday’s global computer outage, they keep saying it was NOT a Hack but a Bug in the system……. Could it have been Hacks to install the Bug well before it was to be installed?
