The Four-Week Trend
The YTD downward trend is being driven by a recent double-digit decrease in crime incidents.
For the four-week period ending August 18, the number of crime incidents have dropped 14.1% when compared to the same period in 2023. During this period property crime incidents are down 7.6% and violent crime incidents are down 26.5%.
Fatal Shootings
During the period, there have been 16 fatal shootings in 2024, compared to 12 fatal shooting deaths in 2023. In 2023, the year ended with a total of 24 fatal shootings.
TR will continue to provide an update to the crime incident report.
Violent crime is UP 100% YTD. It was zero on Jan 1. Since then there have been 700 violent crimes! 20 murders? 560 assaults vs 600 is practically meaningless.
And ‘shootings’ dont matter. Murder, assault, battery, regardless of the tool, matters.
But do you feel safer?
