City Commissioner Jack Porter won her primary election on Tuesday with 53.46 % of the vote. She defeated Rudy Ferguson (38.79%) and Louis Dilbert (7.75%).
Here are some of the numbers behind her victory.
Of the 117,304 registered city voters, 33,784 cast a vote in the race which translates to a primary voter turnout rate of 28.8%.
Porter received 53.46% of the vote or 18,602 votes. This winning vote total translates to 15.9% percent of all city registered voters.
Her closest challenger, Rudy Ferguson, received 13,105 votes or 38.79% of the primary vote. This vote total translates to 11.2% of all city registered voters.
Porter avoided a November runoff by 1,108 votes.
How did Porter’s vote share compare to her 2020 primary win? Porter increased her vote share by 1.6% from 51.9% in 2020 to 53.5% in 2024. However, Porter received less votes in 2024 (18,602) than in 2020 (22,660), due to a higher turnout in 2020.

Great victory for the citizens of Tallahassee. 4 out of 5 districts voted her in. Additionally an increase in 4 districts. This alone says that we believe in her, regardless of some slanted views.
@David:
Like I’ve said many times before here, we have two options:
1) Demand single-member districts, to break the stronghold of the progressive Marxists, or
2) De-annexation of the Northeast quadrant.
Maybe America’s Governor can bail out our clueless hoi palloi by finding ethical improprieties and removing her?
I sent all those unwanted texts to my Junk filter.
So who’s a better liar – Jack or KaMAGA? They’re both very good at Al-Taqiyya (look it up.)
Meanwhile, expect more of these in our Little Chitcago:
Murders/robberies
Graffiti/stinky streets/potholes
Homelessness
And, of course, the obvious one, because we are…
TAXAHASSEE.
@ Wilton… 53% of a 29% turnout is a huge win? Were you in AOCs Econ Class?
@ Tomas and Jack… a terrifying and sad result indeed
@ Maria… Don’t bother holding your nose at all. You will not be able to avoid the odor of Pro-Hamas Progressivism if Do(n)t wins this… nor the smell of feces covered streets and homelessness abound.
@ David… 100% correct. The City Commission must be divided into Districts in order to get a truly fair and balanced representation of the citizens.
A heartbreaking day for Tallahassee. Get out and VOTE people!!!!! For Curtis Richardson.
Commies rig elections, what else is new?
Can we talk about that building there naming after John Mark$$$ now????
Results like this are precisely why we need direct representation and not this at large crap. District 4 continues to have no representation.
Holding my nose again and voting against Curtis Richardson in November.
Both Porter and Inman-Johnson used many texts to contact people indicating they didn’t or would not have voted for increased taxes. Additionally, Johnson asked f the city were dong enough for senior citizens. I am assuming they got my text information from talgov or the senior center. Regardless, I was not charmed.
A sad day for Tallahassee.
Terrifying result for all of us.
Huge win. Terrifying result for Curtis Richardson
