August Airport Traffic Up 16.8%

The latest information from the Tallahassee International Airport shows the August 2024 passenger traffic increased 16.8% when compared to traffic one year ago. The number of passengers was up 11,909 from the 70,956 reported during August 2023 to 82,865 in August 2024.

The calendar year-to-date comparison, January through August, shows passenger traffic is up 14.70% in 2024 when compared to 2023.

Relative to 2023, the Passenger Traffic Report shows year-over-year passenger counts in August were up 14.5% for American Airlines, down 5.2% for the Delta Group and up 64.2% for Silver Airways. New service provider Jet Blue added 6,734 passengers in August 2024.

The graph below shows the annualized number of passengers for the last 37-months. The highlighted numbers on the graph indicate the annual traffic during the month of July over the last four years.

The annual rate of passengers at TIA in August 2024 – 936,877 – is up 12.6% when compared to one year ago. The annualized number of passengers is calculated by summing the previous 12 months of traffic.

    I am expressing my dismay over the dismal failure of our USPS to deliver mail in a timely manner during normal low volume times. What will happen when the volume spikes during the period when mail in ballots are needed to arrive on time ?
