Chiles Timberwolves Lead Tallahassee Volleyball Rankings

Almost halfway through the season, the Chiles Timberwolves lead the Tallahassee high school volleyball rankings.

The table pictured below shows the rankings of the eleven Leon County schools that have indoor volleyball teams. The rankings are based on current record, overall rating and strength of schedule as shown in MaxPreps. The stats used in this edition of high school volleyball rankings were updated on MaxPreps as of 9/16/2024.

Chiles

Chiles remains in first place in the Tallahassee volleyball rankings after defeating a good Ponte Vedra team in straight sets. As a team, Chiles had 42 total kills and a hitting percentage of .323, while holding Ponte Vedra to only 22 kills and a hitting percentage of .066.

Chiles will be tested later this week against a top ranked Gulf Breeze team. The Timberwolves will be looking for redemption as Gulf Breeze handed them their only loss earlier in the season. Their next game is an away game against Wakulla on 9/18/2024.

FSUHS

Florida High stays second in the rankings, after a tight game against Liberty County ultimately ending in a 5-set win for the Seminoles. FSUHS plays several games this week against two Leon County teams, Maclay and Leon. Those games will be played on 9/18 and 9/19 respectively. Florida High will travel to Maclay and will face Leon at home.

Leon

Making their first appearance in the top 3 of the Tallahassee rankings this season, Leon improves to 5-6 with their latest win against Maclay. They held the Marauders to only 9 kills and a hitting percentage of -.048.

Leon has the toughest strength of schedule rating so far among all other Tallahassee teams and will stay at this level with future games against teams such as Chiles and Florida High. The Lions have an in-district game against the Lincoln Trojans at home on 9/17. This will be the two teams first matchup this season.
