Chiles, Maclay Win Golf City Championships

On October 16th the high school golf City Championship took place at Hilaman golf course holding two separate tournaments for boys and girls. Participating schools included Chiles, Lincoln, Maclay, Florida High, Leon, Community Christian (CCS), St. John Paul II (JPII), Rickards, Godby, and Community Leadership Academy (CLA). The stats provided below come from Iwanamaker, a website that reports on golf tournament results.

Boys

Chiles claimed first place as a team with 3 golfers in the top 10 and a team score of 312. Chiles golfers who placed in the top 10 included Alex Parker (Jr.) who paced first with a score of 68 and Asher Hall (Fr.) and Rhys Cochran (Fr.) who both finished sixth shooting 81.

Lincoln finished in second place with a team score of 314 and had three golfers in the top 10. Those golfers were Chase Fleischer (Jr.) who placed second with a score of 73, Bryce Matthews (Jr.) who placed third with a score of 79, and Calvin Edwards (Sr.) who placed 5th with a score of 80.

Maclay took third with a team score of 332 with two golfers in the top 10 that included Cameron Kise (So.) who placed third with a score of 79 and Hayden Chairs (Jr.) who placed sixth with a score of 81.

Girls

 The only two teams that entered enough golfers to qualify for the team competition were Maclay and Florida High. Maclay finished in front with a team score of 384 with notable performances by golfers Reece Erwin (Fr.) who came in second with a score of 91 and Lily Smith (So.) who came in third with a score of 94.

Florida High had notable performances from golfers Peyton Johnson (So.) who placed first with a score of 84 and Savannah Nortelus (Sr.) who placed eighth with a score of 104.

Other notable performances included Chiles golfer Kate Mathis (Fr.) who shot a 97, Maclay golfer Mollie Sprague (Fr.) who shot a 98 and Chiles golfer Beezy Wright (Fr.) who shot a 99.
