Local Incumbents Hold Off Challengers

Local Incumbents Hold Off Challengers

Tuesday night was a good night for incumbents in local government.

In the only city race, Tallahassee City Commissioner Curtis Richardson defeated Dot Inman-Johnson by approximately 1,200 votes in what was likely Richardson’s last campaign. The win means there will be no change in the make-up of the city commission this election cycle.

In two Leon County Commission races, bot incumbents cruised to victory. In an at-large seat, Commissioner Carolyn Cummings defeated David Hawkins and in District 4 Commissioner Brian Welch defeated challenger Issac Montilla.

In the race for school superintendent, incumbent Rocky Hanna defeated Chiles principal, Joe Burgess.

  1. I know that write-ins, Libertarians, Constitution, Green party, & NPA candidates get crushed — by the expenses of getting their names on the ballots, by the lack of funds. And I’m always hoping someone will turn up with the funds to break the local monopolizers’ domination, and was still hoping Joe Burgess would do better against cousin Rocky H… especially because RH seemed to strive so hard to get the boot… until the last couple months, at least. Short memories.

  2. As we look around at our citizens of Leon County please remember a vast majority proved their support of woke peverse policies in our schools.
Proven by the overwhelmimg support of Rocky Hanna.
A lot of locals wish I would not say true things about Rocky and would seek to censor and cancell such truth.

  3. Congratulations Commissioner Richardson!

Yo, Pizza Boy and Jackboot… well, what August said. Twice you’ve tried to takeout your colleagues… and lost. Get your heads out of your backsides, stop working for your warped ideology, and start working for our City.

Oh, and I’m still waiting for your response as to whom you will donate your raise… you know, the one you voted against.
