On Dec. 12 the 7-1 Florida High Seminoles played the 8-2 Lincoln Trojans in a much anticipated match-up. This was a non-conference game held at the Lincoln gym.
Florida High started off strong offensively in the first half scoring 33 points while Lincoln was struggling to get into a rhythm on offense putting up only 11. This changed in the second half as Lincoln scored 19 in the 3rd and 21 in the 4th. Although, it was too little too late as FSUHS went on to preserve their lead in a 70-51 win over the Trojans.
Florida High did a good job of spreading the wealth around with 4 different players scoring 10 points or more. That included Amare Robinson (Jr.) with 10, Caleb Godwin (Sr.) with 11, Trey Card (Sr.) with 13, and Eli Dickey (Sr.) leading the team with 16. Some other notable performances for Florida High included Amare Robinson with 7 steals and Eli Dickey with 15 total rebounds.
Lincoln guard Kingsley Mutanga (Sr.) led the team with 17 points with 6 of those points coming from beyond the arc. Malakhi Lowe (Jr.) scored 13 points and also led the team in rebounds with 5. Another notable performance on the Lincoln team included Eric Turral (So.) with 10 points.
These two teams will play each other again later in the season on Jan. 1 for their second and final meeting of the regular season
