Florida motorists could see a slight decrease in gasoline costs in the coming year despite fuel markets facing continued geopolitical tensions, potential tariffs and changes in U.S. energy policies, according to a report issued Monday.
After facing a barrage of hurricanes, Duke Energy Florida and Tampa Electric Co. on Friday filed proposals to collect about $1.55 billion from customers to cover costs of restoring power and replenishing storm reserves.

At least 15 people were killed and 30 injured after an attacker intentionally drove a pickup truck through a crowd on New Orleans’ Bourbon Street during New Year’s Eve festivities. Officials are describing the attack as an act of terrorism. The driver was killed in a shootout with police shortly after exiting the vehicle.
