Chiles Wrestling Defeats Florida High in Tie Breaker

On Jan. 29, Chiles hosted Florida High in a boys dual wrestling match.

Chiles started off strong claiming 6 points in each of the first 3 bouts with Cooper Hill securing the Fall against Myles Dupont in the 165-weight class and Florida High forfeiting in the 175 and 190 weight class to Chiles’ wrestlers Asher Moon and Andre Moore, respectively. The Timberwolves then claimed 12 more points with Ethan Toomey and Jason Marsala both being awarded falls.

Although down 33-0 through the first 6 bouts, Florida High was starting to make a comeback. It started with Cade Aukeman and Wyatt Feltgen both receiving the full 6 points through forfeit and a fall respectively. Brayden Reed secured a 17-2 technical fall against Jovon Calixte that was good for 5 points. Florida High ended their run with Sterling Hollingsworth, Jasper Croom and Terence Hinson all securing wins by a fall and claiming 6 points each. The last bout was won by Jacob Johnston by forfeit, claiming 6 points forcing the match to a tie breaker.

Chiles won the tie breaker due to having less forfeits (1-3) than Florida High.
