Introduction of Ordinances

11.01 The City Commission voted 4-0 (Mayor Dailey not in chambers) for the Introduction of Ordinance No. 25-Z-06 ; Proposed Amendment to the Official Zoning Map for 10.3 Acres Located Immediately South of Interstate 10, North of Portland Avenue, and west of Old Bainbridge Road, to Change the Zoning Classification from the Single and Two-Family Residential (R-3) Zoning District to the Hudson Lakes Planned Unit Development (PUD) Zoning District. Policy Formation and Direction

12.01 (Item Deleted.) Approval of Resolution No. 25-R-06 for Eminent Domain Action for Construction of the FAMU Way Phase IV Roadway Improvements — Amy M. Toman, City Attorney.

12.02 The City Commission voted 4-0 to authorize an application for the Promoting Resilient Operations for Transformative, Efficient, and Cost-Saving Transportation Discretionary Grant with the U.S. Department of Transportation — Steve Shafer, Underground Utilities & Public Infrastructure. If awarded, the grant will require a 20% matching contribution of about $4.7M, the requested grant is about $23.8M. The match amount will be shared between the City, Florida Department of Transportation, and Leon County in accordance with the percentage of traffic signals owned. The City’s share of approximately $1.6M will be sourced from appropriations within the Underground Utilities & Public Infrastructure Five-Year Capital Improvement Plan.

Public Hearing

16.01 The City Commission held the First and Only Public Hearing for Ordinance No. 25-O-01, Amending Chapter 9 of the Land Development Code Concerning Subdivisions, Technical Amendments and Limited Partitions — John Reddick, Growth Management

16.02 The City Commission held the Frst and Only Public Hearing of Ordinance No. 25-O-03, Amending Section 2-21 of the Code of General Ordinances of the City of Tallahassee — Amy M. Toman, City Attorney. This amendment to the ordinance governing the terms of citizens appointed to the Independent Ethics Board is intended to make such appointments more efficient and to implement the charter provision that requires one appointment to be made by the Public Defender rather than the Chief Judge of the Second Judicial Circuit.

16.03 First and Only Public Hearing of Ordinance No. 25-O-04, Amending Chapter 2, Article III, Division 2 and Article VI, Division 2 of the Code of General Ordinances Regarding the Office of the Inspector General and the Audit Committee — Amy M. Toman, City Attorney. Since the City Charter no longer references the appointed position of City Auditor and the role of the appointed City Inspector General is now defined by charter, certain related provisions of the Code of General Ordinances of the City of Tallahassee require amendment.
