LOCAL NEWS

Incident data published daily by the Tallahassee Police Department shows that total crime incidents in January 2025 declined by 44.3% when compared to incident data from January 2024. The drop was driven by a 49.6% decline in property crime.

The Leon County Sheriff’s Office is announcing the arrests of 19 individuals for trying to engage in sex trafficking and the exploitation of women. Those arrested include a college professor and a guardian at a local elementary school.

On Feb. 26, the Chiles Timberwolves took on the Lincoln Trojans in beach volleyball for the first time this year at Tom Brown Park. Both programs start the season off with high hopes as they both acquired a new head coach for the 2024-2025 season.

A new study released yesterday by the Pew Research Center shows the decline of Christianity in the US has slowed and may have stabilized. The survey of 36,908 Americans, conducted in 2023 and 2024, found that almost 85% of US adults believe in God or a universal spirit, with 62% identifying as Christian—40% as Protestant and 19% as Catholic.
