A Tallahassee woman accused of hitting and killing a toddler in 2020 was sentenced to life in prison Tuesday, according to the Second Judicial Circuit of Florida State Attorney’s Office.

On Thursday, the Blueprint Intergovernmental Agency (IA) budget workshop, elected officials will consider a proposal to fund air service financial incentives in the amount of $670,000 annually beginning in 2026.

The latest jobs report shows the Leon County March unemployment rate was unchanged from February at 3.8%.

Attorneys for the state acknowledged Tuesday that a 2021 Florida law that placed restrictions on social-media platforms posed “First Amendment problems” but urged a federal judge to reject a legal challenge that wound its way to the U.S. Supreme Court before being sent back to district court.

The State of Florida was ranked first in the nation for both its economy and higher education in the latest U.S. News & World Report “Best States” rankings, published on Tuesday, which placed the state sixth overall among all 50 states.

  1. I am pretty sure we did not vote to use that Money for funding Air Service Incentives. We have a LOT of Roads that need grinding down and repaving, many in Mid-Town.

  2. You should probably explain what “air service financial incentives” are if you want us to have an informed opinion.
    Right now, I’m against everything Blueprint does. The only thing worse than the Tallahassee City Commission is a combination of the city and county commissions. They both lie to us with a stunning alacrity at every opportunity.
