Republican gubernatorial candidate Byron Donalds raked in more than $10 million during the year’s second quarter through a political committee and his campaign account, according to newly filed finance reports.
The Friends of Byron Donalds PAC raised about $8.9 million from April 1 through June 30, bringing its overall total to nearly $20.5 million since the committee was formed early this year. It had about $19.86 million in cash on hand as of June 30, according to the reports posted on the state Division of Elections website. Meanwhile, Donalds raised about $1.27 million for his campaign account during the quarter, bringing its overall total to $1.81 million. The campaign account had about $1.02 million in cash on hand.
Donalds, a Naples congressman, is the only prominent Republican who has opened a campaign account to try to succeed the term-limited Gov. Ron DeSantis in 2026. State candidates, political committees and parties faced a Thursday deadline for filing finance reports.
