Leon Volleyball Improves to 2-0 After a Tight Matchup Against Lincoln

On Aug. 21st, the Leon Lions (2-0) hosted the Lincoln Trojans (0-2) in their second regular season match of the 2025-2026 season. Coming off of a straight set win at Wakulla, Leon set the tone winning their first home match in a tight five set battle against the Trojans.

The Trojans started the first set with a dominant run separating themselves from the Lions as the set progressed. Not giving up, the Lions made a late charge cutting the lead to single digits. Lincoln ended up winning the first set with a score of 25-21.

Using their momentum from the end of the first set, the Lions tied the match up at one set each after a commanding second set win with a set score of 25-12.

The third set was much closer than the last with both teams battling back and forth exchanging momentum. Lincoln took the third set with a set score of 25-19 looking to end the match in the next set.

The Lions had different plans as they dominated in the fourth set with a final set score of 25-12 to force a fifth set.

In a race to 15 in the final set, Leon and Lincoln went back and forth in the fifth set tied with a score of 12-12. Finally breaking the tie, the Lions went on to win the fifth set 15-13 and the match, 21-25, 25-14, 19-25, 25-12, 15-13.
