On Sep. 3rd, Florida High hosted a boys high school golf tournament at Capital City Country Club featuring Florida High, the Lincoln Trojans and the Leon Lions. Coming off of a very successful 2024-2025 season, the Trojans were looking to start off strong in their first tournament of the 2025-2026 season.
The Lincoln Trojans continued their success from last season winning the first tournament as a team and placing three golfers in the top five of the individual standings. In the 9-hole tournament format the Trojans claimed first place with a total score of 148 (+4), followed by Leon who shot 175 (+31) as a team and Florida High who shot 175 as well.
Lincoln’s team was led by two seniors, Bryce Matthews and Brandon Hawkes, both shooting two under par with 34 strokes through nine holes claiming first place in the individual standings. Following Matthews and Hawkes was Florida High’s Hunter Glantz (Fr.) who shot a 36 (E) placing third. Two more notable performances included Lincoln’s Chase Fleisher (Jr.) who placed fourth with a round of 37 (+1) and Leon’s Jake Winsor (Sr.) who placed fifth with a round of 40 (+4).
