Tallahassee Downtown & COCA Grant Finalists in Music Grant Competition

TALLAHASSEE, FL – September 5, 2025 – The Council on Culture & Arts (COCA) and the Tallahassee Downtown Improvement Authority Board recently announced that COCA has been selected as one of the 100 nonprofit organizations to progress to the public voting stage of the 2026-2028 Levitt Music Series Grant. The Levitt Foundation received more than 300 applications across the nation for this grant.

Public voting commences on September 5 at 10:00 AM PT and concludes on September 15, 2025, at 5:00 PM PT. Any votes submitted prior to the commencement of the public voting period will not be considered.

There are two methods available for the public to cast their votes and endorse your Levitt Music Series proposal: either through the online platform at https://levitt.org/vote or by submitting a text message to 877-409-5525 using your designated text-to-vote keyword.

An individual is permitted to cast votes for a maximum of five distinct proposals; however, only one vote per proposal is allowed. Once the public voting delineates the fifty finalists, the Levitt Foundation will proceed to select the grant recipients for the Levitt Music Series. Proposals that garner substantial community backing, as reflected by the volume of votes (including both online and text votes), are likely to possess greater influence during the final selection process.

For online voting on the Levitt Foundation website, once an individual clicks to vote for your proposed music series, the location will autofill on the online voting form, so no additional instructions regarding the keyword are needed.

Each proposal possesses a distinct text-to-vote keyword specific to the community. The system will only acknowledge a text vote if it corresponds with the designated keyword. Refer below for the unique keyword and its application connected to COCA and the Tallahassee Downtown Improvement Authority Board.

If voting via text, successful votes will receive confirmation via text. When voting online, successful votes will be confirmed on the screen. If there is no confirmation, the vote was not counted.

The Levitt Foundation collaborates with communities to energize underutilized outdoor spaces, establishing inviting and inclusive destinations where complementary live music fosters community cohesion and revitalizes local life.
