The Council on Culture & Arts (COCA) and the Tallahassee Downtown Improvement Authority Board recently announced that COCA has been selected as one of the 100 nonprofit organizations to progress to the public voting stage of the 2026-2028 Levitt Music Series Grant.

FLORIDA NEWS

The city of Miami Beach has challenged a controversial directive by the Florida Department of Transportation to remove art and markings on streets — including LGBTQ-themed rainbow crosswalks.

Florida this week began accepting immigrant detainees at a repurposed prison in Baker County as part of the state’s support of President Donald Trump’s mass-deportation efforts, according to Gov. Ron DeSantis’ office.

Multiple undersea cables were cut this weekend in the Red Sea near Saudi Arabia, slowing internet access for users in the Middle East, Asia, and Europe. The cause of the interruption was not publicly known as of this writing.
