On Friday, the Tallahassee Police Department reported an arrest related to an armed individual in the area of a local school campus.

An arrest has been made following reports of threats received by the Tallahassee Police Department (TPD) regarding an armed individual in the area of a local school campus.
The initial call originated out of state, and thanks to the quick action of the concerned caller, law enforcement was notified immediately. TPD with assistance from the Leon County Sheriff’s Office quickly responded, deploying patrol officers, specialty units and Air 1, to thoroughly search and secure the areas.
Less than two hours after the original call, the suspect was located in Gadsden County and was taken into custody by the Gadsden County Sheriff’s Office.
“We are grateful this situation did not escalate and that we were able to work seamlessly with our partner agencies to bring this to a safe conclusion,” said Tallahassee Police Chief Lawrence Revell. “We take all threats seriously and remain fully committed to investigating each one to the fullest extent of the law to ensure the safety of our community.”
Arrestee: Demetrius Murray, 33, for written or electronic threats to kill, do bodily injury, or conduct a mass shooting or an act of terrorism.
